MiSha photoshoot poll results

If you don't want spoilers about upcoming MiSha photoshoot pics, don't read further! (Some random promotion at the bottom though.)

In my previous journal entry I provided links to ten doodles of potential candidates for further MiSha photoshoot pics in the latest shower photoshoot. I also asked people to vote on four of the candidates, as I had hard time choosing which to use in the end. A proper MiSha photoshoot is six pics long, so four more pics will be needed.

I'm now concluding the poll, so no more votes are necessary. Thanks to all 38 people who voted. The results are quite informative.

I'm now listing the candidates in winning order. After that I'm talking a bit about what I think of the results and what you can expect the results to mean.

Photoshoot poll results and links to the candidate pics (MATURE CONTENT WARNING!):
1.
(22 votes) - Candidate #3
1. (22 votes) - Candidate #5
2. (19 votes) - Candidate #1
3. (18 votes) - Candidate #4
4. (17 votes) - Candidate #9
5. (12 votes) - Candidate #8
5. (12 votes) - Candidate #10
6. (11 votes) - Candidate #7
7. (9 votes) - Candidate #6
8. (5 votes) - Candidate #2

Thoughts on results
There are actually two placements that are tied, first and fifth. The overall results don't surprise me too much, though I was expecting candidates 7 and 10 to place a little bit higher. Overall, it's pretty clear that you guys like pics where MiSha's boobs are in view better than the butt focused pics. Admittedly MiSha has been all about her boobs from the beginning. The only one with butt in focus among the top 4 is candidate 5, but that one also shows some boob, so that must be why. ;p Candidate 2 placing last doesn't surprise me. It was a mess from the start and I was honestly hoping it wouldn't place near the top. Candidate 1 placing so high was also a bit of a surprise, though I do personally like it a fair bit.

What next?
So, I'm going to use the four pics at the top? Umm... probably not exactly. Definitely using the top two, but the other two may need to be switched to the runner-ups to provide a better flow to the progression in the pics. Ideally I want the boob and butt focus to be evenly presented as well, so I'm probably going to need to have the second highest rated butt focus pic included, that is candidate 10. Or 7, which would be a great finisher. Candidates 1 and 5 are also very similar in the situation they represent, so using both doesn't seem like a good idea. And since 5 got more votes, candidate 1 will likely end up the one excluded. Candidates 3, 4 and 9 are also all pics of MiSha sitting or kneeling on the floor, so using them all would make the rest of the shoot overly focused on the floor level. Not necessarily a bad thing, but again, ideally I'd like the pics to have variety.

To be honest, the only thing the poll helped with is to rule out the two least voted ones, and to confirm two pics that will definitely be included. The rest could really go a lot of different ways.

Some initial options I'm considering (candidates in order they'd be used):
  • 3 (bikini bottom added) -> 5 (as is) -> 10 (as is, or with bikini top removed) -> 4 (no bikini parts)
  • 4 (edited to look like she's untying the top) -> 5 (bikini top removed) -> 3 (no bikini parts) -> 7 (as is)
  • 5 (as is) -> 10 (as is) -> 3 (as is) -> 9 (as is)

Opinions and suggestions are of course still welcome. I don't think I'll be able to start working on the next pic for at least a few days anyways. I'm leaning toward the second option above at the moment. The third option is also appealing as it involves the least editing and candidate 9 would help me practice drawing feet, my weakest area by far. 9 isn't on my top favorite list otherwise though.

In any case, look forward to a new MiSha photoshoot pic in the coming weeks. And thanks again to all who voted, and for any feedback provided throughout this photoshoot design process!

Need your help deciding! MiSha photoshoot pics!

Hello everyone. As you might've noticed, I recently submitted two new finished MiSha photoshoot pics. A proper MiSha photoshoot is six pics long, so still four to go. Throughout this week, I've been doodling away at potential new photoshoot pics. Now I need your help deciding which ones are going to end officially in the photoshoot series, eventually polished and fully colored.

If you don't want any spoilers in advance, but prefer to wait for the finished products, ignore the rest below. Otherwise, PLEASE leave your votes on your favorites. Instructions below.

HOW TO VOTE (PLEASE READ!)
  • There are ten doodles. I need you to pick maximum of FOUR of your favorites. Simply list the candidate numbers.
  • At least one vote must be on a pic that has boobs in focus (candidates 1, 3, 4, 8, 9).
  • At least one vote must be on a pic that has butt in focus (candidates 2, 5, 6, 7, 10).
  • These are VERY ROUGH DRAFTS and vary in quality. Some doodles are purely done on computer, some are edited ballpoint pen doodles, and there's even one that I tried to do on my tablet, without a proper stylus pen.
  • DON'T vote on what looks most refined in its current state. Vote on the ones you think WOULD look best if all issues with proportions and perspective were to be fixed, and missing details, like background and shower water, added.
  • Also note that depending on what order the pics end up in the photoshoot, there may be more or less bikini parts worn in the final edition than what is present in these drafts. I doodled the pics with some sort of chronological placement in mind, but it may change. The only exception is pics where MiSha is shifting bikini parts, those will stay the same, since doing things with the bikini is the purpose of those pics.
  • You can view the candidate pics in my Sta.sh folder, here: sta.sh/21j93bcveei7 (MATURE CONTENT, OBVIOUSLY!)
Now go check the doodles out and drop your FOUR votes here, according to the rules above. (If you want privacy, you can send me your votes by a note too.)

THANKS! :)

Also, feel free to comment on anything, of course. The plan is to have MiSha keep the bikini top on, but dragged under her boobs (Thoughts? Would it be better to have the bikini slightly cupping her boobs, or should the bikini top be removed completely sooner?), then start dropping the bikini bottom in pic 3, losing the bottom part by pic 4 or 5, and losing the top part, if not removed yet, by pic 5-6. Pic 6 is meant to be full nude, maybe one of the towel pics.

04/24/2017 - WHAT TO COLOR NEXT? (MORE VOTES PLZ)

If you missed the previous journal entry, read that one below first.

I'd like to get a few more votes (either from more people, or more from those who already voted) on what to color next from my scrapbook doodles. The votes so far are extremely spread out, and I'm looking to find a work that gets a bit more votes than others.

I think I might want to color something in a few days, y'see. :)

And if you missed the first doodle that got colored, it's here:

04/16/2017 - LOOKING FOR QUICK FEEDBACK

Been a while since posting new art. Getting art done as been difficulty lately, but tonight I have quite a bit of free time, and I'm thinking about coloring one of the doodles in my scraps section. I'd like some very quick and immediate suggestions as to which one to work on. Ideally within hours from posting this, so that I have enough time to finish by tomorrow evening.

So if you have a moment to spare, would you kindly:
1. Go to my Scraps section, here: HitmanN's Scraps
2. Choose a few works you'd like to see colored.
3. Leave a comment here with a list of those works (please include the doodle's name or link/url) OR send me a note and mention the works there.
4. That's all! Thanks!

If I get multiple votes on the same work, I'll go for that one. :)

(UPDATE)
So many suggestions from you people. Thanks!

Unless I missed a comment or counted wrong, I believe the following image was the first to be mentioned three times, so it's what I'm likely going to color:

Although I couldn't get started on this tonight, which is a bit of a shame, but there's always tomorrow!

Feel free to keep commenting if you want to add more suggestions, or if you're joining a little late. Extra votes will help me pick further coloring projects, should I feel like coloring more in near future. :)

07/31/2016 - Still selling original works!

Another reminder that I'm still selling several original physical ballpoint pen and pencil works that I've done over the past couple of years or so. For more info, scroll down this journal page to the entry made on 13th of March. List of works on sale can be found on my userpage: HitmanN

Additionally, I'm running a limited time offer:
BUY TWO OR MORE WORKS FROM THE LIST AND GET A 20% DISCOUNT ON THE WHOLE ORDER!

Give these one-of-a-kind works a new home, perhaps? ^_^

06/18/2016 - Contest win and a new icon!

My latest work Contest entry - Carnival Erika won the 64th King of Perverts contest at PWFA. The contest had a pretty low participation of only 4 entries, but I'm happy to be the favored one. ^^

To celebrate this, I've updated my user icon with a new version. I had the previous one for like, I dunno, 8 years? I still decided to keep it similar to the old one with the blue gradient and white text, but changed it from the ad-type approach to a lid-being-peeled-off look. It's a real pain trying to optimize an animated icon with multiple images to fit into dA's 15kb size limit. I wanted there to be an additional transitioning effect at the end for my username and more frames for the initial peeling part, but I just couldn't fit either in. Aww... >.<

The new icon:
:iconhitmann:

And I'm still selling physical originals of my recent doodles (see older posts below).

05/05/2016 - Still selling physical original works!

Just a reminder that I'm still selling originals of many of the ballpoint pen and pencil works found in my scraps gallery. I'm going through periods of layoffs at work for several months and could use a little financial support, so consider buying some original works of mine! See my userpage for a list of works on sale, and the older journal entries below for more info!

Here's a sample of one of my ballpoint pen works framed. Not a good frame really, but it was the only one I had at hand.
(This is a presentation sample. Frames are not included with purchased works.)

03/31/2016 - UPDATE #2

I just bought a new scanner, yay! Makes quite the difference when scanning my ballpoint pen works, I say. Much closer to the real thing, plus the new scanner actually picks all the fine detail. I've already updated a few scraps with a new scan, and might do so with a few more later.

03/19/2016 - UPDATE

I mentioned previously (see the original journal entry below) that I'm selling original physical artworks found in my scraps section. I've now made a list of those works and you can find it on my userpage. I'm selling these because I'm soon going to have a lot of days off from work due to layoffs, so please do consider supporting my art by buying one of these one-of-a-kind artworks! :) Thank you!

03/13/2016 - About the lack of new works lately (untrue) + News!

'ey all!

I just realized it's been like 10 months since my last gallery submission. Yikes! What gives?! Well, it's actually NOT true. Ever since the last colored work in May last year, I've posted 27 new things. They've just all gone to my scrapbook, which, judging by the number of views, a lot of people aren't watching. Why do I put the works in the scrapbook? Because they're not colored and many of them are a bit rough around the edges, primarily because most of them are ballpoint pen doodles on paper. Some of them are pretty neat and I could probably put some of them in my main gallery too, but I do like keeping the main gallery colorful and polished-looking, so I've been using the scraps section instead.

So... if you'd like to stay up-to-date with my latest scrapbook stuff, be sure to put my scraps under watch too! Click on the 'Deviants Online' icon (the one with the two busts) at the top right, click 'Manage' and check the circle under Scraps next to my username. Done!

Alternatively you can follow me on Tumblr: HitmanN-art on Tumblr, I post most of my works there too.

Anyways, in case you've missed on all the potentially neat scraps, here are a few of my personal favorites from the last 10 months:

I'm also selling many of the physical originals of the works in my scraps (including the slightly older pencil works). Price range is $25-50, depending on how clean the original is. They're all in roughly A5 size (210 x 148 mm or 8.27 x 5.83 ") or thereabouts. Send me a note or leave a comment here if you're interested in any of them and I'll provide more info. Many of the ones in blue ink are on notebook pages though (with a faint grid over the page), so I doubt you'd want to buy them, but if for some reason you're interested in those too, then please do tell. I'll depart from them pretty cheap. ;p

From mid-April onward, for at least half a year, there will be layoffs in shifts at my workplace, and I'll have every other two weeks off from work. Perhaps then I'll have colored works to submit more often again. On the flipside, my income will take a hit as well (union benefits cover some of the losses though, so not like I'll be going with half the income, but still...), so buying some of the scrapbook originals would be a great way to help me out. Not yet sure of commission opportunities, but those might be possible too, but I'll announce about those later. In the meantime, the scraps are up for grabs! Help a (figuratively) starving artist out, will ya? ^_^

Also, if you'd really like to see a specific scrap finished in full color, post a comment or send a note! I'd like to color one or two at some point, but I have no idea where to start! :ohnoes:

Any OC's you'd like to see again?

As the title suggests, here's the question. Are there any original characters in my gallery, that have only made two appearances at most, and which haven't been named, that you wish to see drawn again? If so, let me know which ones (title of picture or a link to the deviation), and if you have any specifics about how you'd like to see them. Like focus on boobs or butt, pantyshots, wearing specific type of clothing or be naked or whatever. I'm planning on doing a sort of collage of several of my OC's soon, so here's your chance to maybe a get your wish granted as part of such collage.

Any OC from my gallery is fine (even old ones from like ten years ago, if you'd like to see them in an updated style), as long as it's a human character, unnamed, and has made an appearance in a modern setting. So, for example, catgirls are a no (there's enough for a separate collage anyways. ;) ), fantasy-themed girls are a no (elves, fairies, etc), OC's of other people are a no (most commissions, basically), named characters are a no (eg. MiSha, Erika, the girls in the Lingerie Thingerie series, etc), and so on. Check the image descriptions to see if I've mentioned them having a name already or belonging to someone else.

All wishes will be considered, though I'll probably only grant a few. I will quite likely also give the selected OC's a name and possibly a backstory. Some of you really like knowing details like that. ;)

Here's the last pencil sketch auction for now. Might consider auctioning more at a later time though. :) This auction is for the original pencil sketch "Random Pin-up Candidate". The auction ends December 31st , around 9pm GMT (may change depending on my schedule, but this is the plan for now).

Last chance for a raffle entry (read below), so be sure to bid! ;)

RAFFLE! (BONUS FOR PARTICIPATING):

Everyone who bids on a sketch auction during December will participate in a raffle I'll hold at the end of the year. The randomly-drawn winner of the raffle will receive at least two items, which can be either original sketches/doodles or leftover prints (probably one of each!). Your bid doesn't need to win an auction in order to participate in the raffle! Bidding in each auction earns you an additional raffle ticket (but only one per auction item!). So go ahead, up that bid. Even if you don't win the auction, you might win the raffle. :)

So, I figured it's a shame having the pencil works I did earlier this year just gathering dust (well, not literally, since they're still in the sketchbook, but I'm sure you get the idea), so I figured I'd sell off some of them. For how much? I dunno! You tell me! So, let's try an auction! I'll start off with the older ones and if this goes well, then I'll move on to the newer ones! Twisted Fusion Kickstarter successfully funded!

The Kickstarter campaign for Twisted Fusion that I announced recently reached the minimum goal, and is thus succesfully funded. Thanks to everyone who pledged in. This game will feature sprite artwork by yours truly, so look forward to it on Wii U near the end of this year.

There's still time to pledge in, so here's the Kickstarter link, one more time:
Twisted Fusion (exclusive for Wii U) Kickstarter

And now...

TWISTED TOWER

I've been delaying this for half a year or so now, because I didn't know where the project was heading. I still don't, but it'd be a waste to let it dust in the quiet corners of the internet.

Image Twisted Tower - Chapter 1 is a PC game project I started in late 2010. I worked on it randomly until early 2013, but for some reason lost interest and momentum to work on it further. I still want to finish it some day though, so I'm just waiting for that spark that gets me rolling on again. I released a public alpha build of the game last year at the project page over at The Daily Click, but left promotion for a later time. A much later time. Today, I guess.

ImageTwisted Tower is a platformer game, with elements from RPG's, dungeon crawlers, roguelikes and metroidvania. The game takes place in the same universe as the iPhone game Twisted Fates that I did graphics for a while back. You control Arina, a catgirl introduced in Twisted Fates, through randomly generated levels inside a structure called Twisted Tower. Fight your way through enemies using one of eight different weapon types, cast magic spells from two different schools, level up your stats, choose class and skill masteries, break and open countless containers, collect weapons, armor and consumables as loot, and try to reach the top of the tower to find out what has caused Twisted Tower to undergo changes.

Image The game was intended to consist of multiple chapters (3-4), but at this time it seems just finishing chapter 1 is the only realistic goal for the time being. Twisted Tower is fully playable already however. There is little to no story and only basic content for the areas outside the tower, but the tower itself, with its 30 randomly generated floors, spanning three different area themes is almost complete. There's one boss enemy, but the chapter boss is not yet implemented. You can thus explore the tower up to floor 30, right to the door that leads to the chapter boss (but actually leads back to floor 1, for now). That's 3-5 hours of gameplay, depending on your playstyle and experience.

Image Twisted Tower can be played with a keyboard, or a gamepad (buttons are configured for Xbox360 layout by default, but can be customized).

Image Twisted Tower's soundtrack was created by Adrien "LoKi" Couturier. Everything else is made by me. The game is made with Multimedia Fusion 2.

leuvsion is holding another Cora art contest alongside the Twisted Fusion kickstarter. Design a costume for Cora, to be used in-game, and win some cash on the side!

Contest is short, with just 2 weeks until deadline, so head quickly to read the rules and more information at leuvsion's journal below:

Twisted Fusion Kickstarter

(Update: Already over 40% funded!)

I'm here to promote a Kickstarter for the indie game Twisted Fusion, for Wii U. This is primarily leuvsion's project, but I'm contributing most of the gameplay assets (character and enemy sprites, items, background objects, etc) that have accumulated over the past years for various projects in the 'Twisted' series of games (you may remember Twisted Fates or Cora-Bolt), plus more, so I'm part of the Kickstarter budget as well.

Aside from that, leuvsion has all the details on the Kickstarter page, so head over to Twisted Fusion (exclusive for Wii U) project page if you fancy the idea of supporting an epic adventure in a unique open world platformer for Wii U!

Don't forget you can also help by promoting the kickstarter! Share a link, retweet on Twitter, like on facebook, etc!

FAQ:

Q:"Will Twisted Fusion be available for other platforms than Wii U?"
A:From leuvsion:"If you don't have a Wii U, you can always go in with the early access beta reward, the PC beta will be upated with the full release once finished, including updates after."

More updates soon

I will be doing more journal entries on my status, projects, etc, soon!

Back to work
After having been more or less unemployed (lay-off last year), I'm called back to my full-time job again, starting on Monday. Obviously, it's good to have work again, for financial reasons, but it also means less time and motivation for art, at least initially. Perhaps once work becomes routine again, I can spend a weekend on random art every once in a while. Commissions are closed for further notice as well.

Time will tell how things will be in future, art-wise. I won't be going anywhere from dA though, so keep 'em comments, notes and whatever coming. I'll check my messages regularly. ;)

Website Reminder
My website and its forums have been through a bit of a silent period over the past year or two, mostly because I haven't done a lot of art or updated the website. It would be nice to see some activity on the forums again at least, so if you've been there before, or even if you haven't, please consider giving HitmanN.net some attention. You may even find some previews, doodles or miscellaneous art there. ;) As a long-term plan, I'd like to get the website redesigned and forums replaced sometime during this year. I'd like to make everything more compact, with a fresh look. Seeing that people care about the website would increase my motivation towards doing such transition sooner than later. :)

Commission Status
Not available, unless I otherwise announce.

UPDATE:
Due to popular demand, I've decided not to disable the oldest deviations from my gallery afterall. For now they're not listed under 'featured', and most of them have had commenting disabled. This should hopefully be a decent middle ground where newer art gets more focus, but you still have access to all the old works too.

Spring cleaning and general update

Once again, it's been a while from my last journal update. So, here's a quick update on what's going on at my end.

First, I'd like to mention that I just did some spring cleaning in my gallery here, disabling many of my works from before 2006 and some from after that. Why? Because I don't find them representing my current abilities and style anymore. In particular, receiving comments on those works makes me cringe, regardless of whether they're compliments or critique. Those works are just... too old. I left a few of the classics around, but disabled comments on them. Truth be told, I might disable even more works, up to 2007 or 2008, to keep the content relatively fresh and to avoid people discovering my older works before the newer ones. Anyways, this'll do for now. If you happen to immensely miss the works I've disabled, you can still find them at my website's gallery: HitmanN.net

Some of you might remember the issues I had last year with a blockage in my bileducts. To avoid the problem repeating, I was booked for surgery, to remove my gallbladder. To those that don't know, it's a very common procedure, and most people live a normal life without a gallbladder. A few weeks ago my gallbladder was removed. The operation is very 'simple' these days. Four holes around the right side of the stomach, through which instruments and cameras are inserted, and through which the gallbladder is pulled out. I was discharged the next day, and was pretty much feeling normal in a few days. By now I've completely recovered. No issues with eating any kinds of foods or anything either. All's good. :)

The spring hasn't been very productive time for me art-wise, despite me still being unemployed, waiting to be called back to my full-time job (should happen in the coming few months), but I've been feeling like doodling some stuff lately, so hopefully I can make a piece or two worth uploading here as well, before I'm employed again.

Regarding commission availability, unfortunately I've pretty much decided to stop commissions entirely for now, simply because I lack the motivation for them, and because once I'm back at my full-time job, I won't have much time for commissions anyways. Sorry to everyone who have patiently been waiting for a chance at a commission. I'm still hoping that in future I can do some commissions again, but for now it's just not working for me, sorry. Keep checking on my future journal entries for any changes to the situation though. (I'll also try to remember to update my website with the same info...)

That's about it for now.

Small Art Feature!

leuvsion recently held a contest about drawing their character Cora, which appears in the iPhone/iPad games Twisted Fates, Cora-Bolt and Super Cora-Bolt. You may remember that I made much of the graphical assets for Twisted Fates (and much of it has been recycled or expanded on in the other games), and that in most of the games you can also play as MiSha or Erika. Although the contest was about Cora, some entries also featured MiSha and Erika. I've decided to do a small feature of these artworks, and the contest winners, as an extra prize, even though I didn't participate in the contest's organization. It's just fun seeing MiSha and Erika drawn by other people. ;)

Runner-up works featuring also MiSha and Erika:

Updated Journal! Yay!

As suggested by someone, I should update my journal. So here goes. It's a pretty long read, so I've provided a tl;dr recap at the end for the impatient people. ;)

Art? Commissions?
What's been happening at my end? Why so little new art? Well, I guess it all started with art commission schedules burning me out earlier this year. I pretty much came to the realization that I was accepting too many commissions, and putting so much work to them that the monetary compensation I usually asked didn't feel motivating enough in the long term. So I pretty much stopped doing commissions, and am still not accepting any new ones for the time being. Chances are that if/when I get back to doing commissions, I won't be doing a lot of hi-resolution stuff. A picture that's good for a desktop wallpaper, or to be printed, easily takes twice as much time to create, and is very tedious work. I like doodling quickies and throwing some basic colours on them instead. I'd rather do a few of those dead cheap that one giant image that has to have every nook and cranny covered to not look messy in large scale. But I'm not ready for that yet. Maybe closer to next summer. So please, don't ask about commissions for the next couple of months or so. I won't be doing any.

But I will attempt to do a few of my own personal works in the meantime. :)

What else?
Commission burnout caused me to sorta feel uninspired with art altogether. I've been focusing my creative efforts on small game projects, as well as just plain playing games. Right now I'm into Planetside 2. I'm playing VS, on EU server Woodman, if anyone wants to stop by in-game, as friend or foe, heh.

Then there was this little downtime a few weeks back. One day I started having horrible stomach pains, burning sensations and pressure on the right side of my chest. Thinking it was just some nasty bug going around, I kept just resting and eating healthy (despite having almost no appetite at any time)... but then a few days later it got real bad when I woke up in the morning. Seriously almost passed out from the initial pain. Quick visit at the hospital didn't result in anything but me getting some pain meds at first, but once proper blood tests were taken, I was pretty much admitted immediately. Liver values were through the roof, I was turning yellow-ish. After a week of no proper diagnosis, I was sent to have an ERCP done (to clear my bile ducts), as ultrasound had revealed some gallstones in my gallbladder. No blockage was detected in my bile ducts, but it was deemed best for the time being. And whaddaya know, the operation took like thirty minutes, and when I woke up from the mild sedatives... all the pain was absolutely gone. Huge relief. But sadly, couple of my liver values kept rising. I felt just fine, but those seemed to go worse. Until a few days later, when the progress suddenly stopped and the values started going down. After another week in the hospital, having had a liver biopsy done, chest MRI and whatnot, nothing serious was found and liver values were still going for the better, so I got discharged. My blood values are still being monitored every few weeks or so, and I'll probably need to have my gallbladder removed in the future because of the gallstones, but the good thing is that I've been feeling just fine after getting home. So, I'm well now, but the exact cause of the liver values is still undiagnosed. But considering that they've been going for the better, I'm not worried. Especially now, after the ERCP. I generally have less issues with my stomach altogether. Used to have some minor pains regularly before the worse ones, but haven't had those ever since. Feels great. :) Taught me to eat a bit more healthily too.

There's been other stuff happening too, errands to run and stuff, but now I'm starting to feel like I can focus on the occasional artwork again. Like my latest artwork shows. Speaking of that artwork (sexy kitty time), I noticed a lot of people saying they like the 'new style' better than my old one. I'm a bit baffled about that, because the only thing I thought I did differently was the colour scheme, which is just generally overall brighter, to compensate for the lack of detailed background. I'm not sure if these people meant that I should colour my works in bright/ethereal colours more often, or if they meant something else. ;P If you think you can enlighten me, please do. Maybe I'll learn something about my own art process.

Calendars and prints
I'd also like to remind everyone that the calendars I've made in the past (namely Bikini Calendar and Year of Lingerie) are still available as prints, for 2013. I've featured Year of Lingerie on my userpage, so you can find it easily. Need a calendar for next year, or a quick christmas gift for a fellow fan of cute & sexy? Consider buying a calendar, while also supporting me and my art. Don't forget about the other prints too. Some of my works are available as poster size prints, and there are also mugs with kitties on them, and fridge magnets. Browse my Prints page for more!

TL;DR recap of the above
Taking a break from commissions, but will try to do some new art in the meantime. Playing Planetside 2 a lot. Had some issues with my gallbladder/liver, but I'm fine now. Looking for feedback on the 'sexy kitty time' deviation. Don't forget my prints page, for possible Xmas gift ideas, like calendars!

That's all for now!

... Stuff

So, despite of me hinting about possibly there being more new art, I've just had too many other things going on to do any. Not any commissions either. I'm hoping to have something done in coming times, but don't hold your breath or anything. ^^;

The good news for my financial situation is that I definitely should be called back to my job sometime next year, if not earlier even. I'm likely going to be assembling Mercedes-Benz cars (in case you forgot or don't know, I was previously working in the local car factory). The magnitude of the order is so big that it should provide work for the next three years at least. So, my unemployment isn't as uneasy anymore, now that I know I'll definitely be back at the job within a year or so. Might still need to look for some temp work in the meantime, but I'm no longer worried.

Another thing of mention is that I was on vacation in Austria for a week with my father, at the end of last month. A small village called Söll, in the midst of the alps. For a person like me, from a country with next to no mountains, seeing the alps was nothing short of awe-inspiring. I took a lift to the top of Hohe Salve mountain (1829m, if I recall correctly), gazed at a the awesome scenery for a good long while, then hiked all the way down. Well, to be honest, I did 2/3 of the trip one day, then took a lift to the halfway station and did the remaining 1/3 another day, but still, that's one thing off my 'list of things to do before I die'. Well, seeing the alps was, anyways. Hiking down a mountain was a great addition, lol. There was more than just the alps to see, but I personally went there just for the scenery alone. After the vacation I was just so damn tired that I did next to nothing for a week. I mean, I had walked and hiked more in one week than I normally do in like 2-3 months. Needless to say, for a lazy-ass geek like me, that trip did good. And all that scenery and culture did good for the mind and senses. It had been like, I dunno, 16 years or something from the last time I was outside of Finland, so it was about time I got to see some foreign lands again. I can seriously recommend Austria and the alps as a vacation destination. Great scenery, interesting culture and architecture, extremely friendly locals, and good (although often greasy) food, just to list some good sides. Definitely not ruling out going to Austria again in future.

Back-ish in action

As some of you may have noticed, after about half a year of silence, I submitted a new pic. Yay! This 'yay' comes with a bit of a 'nay' for me though. The reason I have time for art again is because I was laid off from my job for the rest of the year (estimate), for economic and production-related reasons. In any case, during the off-time, I got myself a condo, yay! Had to get a mortgage though, so another 'nay' comes with that. I'm financially secure for quite a while though, so as long as I'll get work again eventually, I'll be fine. I was also able to afford a new computer and monitor too. Also upgraded to latest version of openCanvas. I was still using a version from like 2006 or something. ^^; Possibly looking into getting a new tablet as well. The old one's falling apart, figuratively speaking.

So, I'm unemployed for an unspecified time. While I keep looking for work in the meantime, I can spend plenty of time on art again! The pic I posted last night with Prier in it is hopefully a prelude to more 'blasts from the past', so to speak. I'm hoping to draw things I did back when I joined dA years ago. Maybe some apron-only girls, animal-themed girls, etc. And we can't forget MiSha and Erika either. Hopefully I'll get to do some new pics of those two as well. ^^ If you remember fondly of any old work of mine, from before 2007 or so, feel free to suggest them as topic for a remake or revisit! :)

Commission Status

I might be accepting commissions again soon, but not right now. If I don't update here with more info by June or so, sling me a message or comment with your inquiries, if you're interested!
