06/18/2016 - Contest win and a new icon!

My latest work Contest entry - Carnival Erika won the 64th King of Perverts contest at PWFA. The contest had a pretty low participation of only 4 entries, but I'm happy to be the favored one. ^^

To celebrate this, I've updated my user icon with a new version. I had the previous one for like, I dunno, 8 years? I still decided to keep it similar to the old one with the blue gradient and white text, but changed it from the ad-type approach to a lid-being-peeled-off look. It's a real pain trying to optimize an animated icon with multiple images to fit into dA's 15kb size limit. I wanted there to be an additional transitioning effect at the end for my username and more frames for the initial peeling part, but I just couldn't fit either in. Aww... >.<

05/05/2016 - Still selling physical original works!

Just a reminder that I'm still selling originals of many of the ballpoint pen and pencil works found in my scraps gallery. I'm going through periods of layoffs at work for several months and could use a little financial support, so consider buying some original works of mine! See my userpage for a list of works on sale, and the older journal entries below for more info!

Here's a sample of one of my ballpoint pen works framed. Not a good frame really, but it was the only one I had at hand.

03/31/2016 - UPDATE #2

I just bought a new scanner, yay! Makes quite the difference when scanning my ballpoint pen works, I say. Much closer to the real thing, plus the new scanner actually picks all the fine detail. I've already updated a few scraps with a new scan, and might do so with a few more later.

03/19/2016 - UPDATE

I mentioned previously (see the original journal entry below) that I'm selling original physical artworks found in my scraps section. I've now made a list of those works and you can find it on my userpage. I'm selling these because I'm soon going to have a lot of days off from work due to layoffs, so please do consider supporting my art by buying one of these one-of-a-kind artworks! Thank you!

03/13/2016 - About the lack of new works lately (untrue) + News!

'ey all!

I just realized it's been like 10 months since my last gallery submission. Yikes! What gives?! Well, it's actually NOT true. Ever since the last colored work in May last year, I've posted 27 new things. They've just all gone to my scrapbook, which, judging by the number of views, a lot of people aren't watching. Why do I put the works in the scrapbook? Because they're not colored and many of them are a bit rough around the edges, primarily because most of them are ballpoint pen doodles on paper. Some of them are pretty neat and I could probably put some of them in my main gallery too, but I do like keeping the main gallery colorful and polished-looking, so I've been using the scraps section instead.

So... if you'd like to stay up-to-date with my latest scrapbook stuff, be sure to put my scraps under watch too! Click on the 'Deviants Online' icon (the one with the two busts) at the top right, click 'Manage' and check the circle under Scraps next to my username. Done!

I'm also selling many of the physical originals of the works in my scraps (including the slightly older pencil works). Price range is $25-50, depending on how clean the original is. They're all in roughly A5 size (210 x 148 mm or 8.27 x 5.83 ") or thereabouts. Send me a note or leave a comment here if you're interested in any of them and I'll provide more info. Many of the ones in blue ink are on notebook pages though (with a faint grid over the page), so I doubt you'd want to buy them, but if for some reason you're interested in those too, then please do tell. I'll depart from them pretty cheap.

From mid-April onward, for at least half a year, there will be layoffs in shifts at my workplace, and I'll have every other two weeks off from work. Perhaps then I'll have colored works to submit more often again. On the flipside, my income will take a hit as well (union benefits cover some of the losses though, so not like I'll be going with half the income, but still...), so buying some of the scrapbook originals would be a great way to help me out. Not yet sure of commission opportunities, but those might be possible too, but I'll announce about those later. In the meantime, the scraps are up for grabs! Help a (figuratively) starving artist out, will ya? ^_^

Also, if you'd really like to see a specific scrap finished in full color, post a comment or send a note! I'd like to color one or two at some point, but I have no idea where to start!
